Program Overview

The Accessible Tourism program is designed to increase the visibility of accessible experiences and support tourism businesses in welcoming more visitors of all abilities.

To complete the program, businesses undertake a comprehensive online assessment that evaluates their accessibility provisions across five disability support categories: cognitive/autism, limited mobility, wheelchairs and scooters, low hearing, and low vision.

Accreditation is granted only where businesses meet the essential criteria for each individual support category.

Upon completion, businesses receive:

  1. A detailed Accessibility Information guide to clearly communicate key accessibility features to visitors. This guide can be shared via websites, social media, brochures, and more.
  2. An internal report that highlights opportunities for further improvement. The report outlines necessary accessibility provisions for each support category, helping businesses understand where they can develop their offerings.

Build loyalty and a strong reputation amongst visitors and industry as a socially responsible destination that values inclusivity and accessibility.
